I hope to be selected to study for the DDS/DMD Degree here in the USA to be prepared to contribute to Dentistry. I plan to continue to give myself tirelessly as a volunteer and a professional, especially in my dedication to the cause of oral health education promotion and preventive dentistry. The College of Dentistry at the University of ____ is my first choice among International Dentist Degree Programs (IDDP) for several reasons, most of all the sheer excellence of your program and my great love for Canada. I am now a permanent resident of Canada, and I have been making Toronto home with my family for some time.

I have always felt the need to volunteer, give something back to the community and help the underserved. I have volunteered in many settings as a dental student since graduation, including hospitals, dental camps, and on committees for various oral-health-related organizations. Knowing that my contribution puts a smile on someone’s face, making their life a little easier, makes my day. I fondly remember my volunteer work providing participants with dental education, clinical checkups, and services. I am currently serving as a volunteer screening for symptoms at ____ Hospital’s ____ Cancer Centre, and I also volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society as a fundraiser. Since childhood, I have made jewelry, which helped prepare me for the intricacy of dentistry. I also dance classical Indian dance to unwind.

My mom and her sisters were born with cleft lip and palate. Since we lived in rural India, she could not get corrective surgery until well into adulthood; thus, oral health was a prominent factor in my life. After observing the oral surgeon's positive impact on my family, I knew I wanted to give my life to a profession where I could help people improve their oral health. A career in dentistry also appeals to me because I enjoy interacting with and assisting diverse people from all levels of society.

My internship was one of the best experiences of my life. It developed my love for evidence-based learning. During my Dental Practice, I was extremely fortunate to have a chance to treat underprivileged patients and work as a dental surgeon for four years. I have published my research in peer-reviewed journals and presented it at national and international conferences. A voracious reader, I stay abreast of developments in dentistry and have taken several CDE courses. After completing my internship as a dentist, I realized how much I enjoyed participating in research, which led me to earn a master's degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

It would be an enormous honor to be accepted into the especially distinguished IDDP Program at ____ University, preparing me for a lifetime of innovative work, improving the oral health of our community one person at a time. My student record shows improvement and consistency. Through the arduous work I have put in, I have demonstrated that I learn from my mistakes and improve, always working to enhance my teamwork and communication skills. I hope to be able to study at ____ University because it is such a world-class institution and because my family and I are very comfortably settled in Toronto.

I could not feel more strongly that access to oral health education, and care should be seen as a fundamental human right, along with clean water, adequate nutrition, and medical care. I appreciate how the College of Dentistry at ____ University emphasizes the importance of helping the community, which is our civic duty, especially in dentistry. I could not be more excited about the prospect of long hours in dental school, wrestling with a comprehensive variety of complex issues. I hope to actively participate in your highly commendable outreach program at ____to provide oral health care to some of the underserved members of our community.

By spending time with friends studying OMFS dentistry and shadowing Canadian dental residents, I have witnessed the commitment, responsibility, and academic rigor that an IDDP program will entail. I am fully prepared to give my absolute best.

Thank you for considering my application.
