I have come to know her well since she has been my dental assistant for the past two years, and, quite frankly, I will hate to lose her to dental school, but I know that she can and should become an excellent dentist. ____ is such a talented hygienist that it is a pleasure to watch her work, mainly because she is very gentle and friendly. She has gained extensive experience preparing patients, sterilizing instruments, setting up instrument trays, and preparing the materials used in dental procedures, taking special care to keep the patient’s mouth free of debris during the process; handing the dentist the appropriate instruments; taking impressions; utilizing coronal polishing; and calibrating temporary crowns. She is highly accomplished at X-rays and familiar with using the fourhanded assisting technique. She is also conscientious about maintaining dental equipment in perfect condition. Although I will miss her desperately, I am thrilled that ____ has decided to earn her master's degree in dental hygiene, and it brings me immense joy to have helped to inspire her to contribute to our field.
