A dentist who was raised and educated in Romania, I now live in NYC, and love my new home very much. Thus, I seek to continue my education in dentistry here in America so as to be able to practice here in NYC. Graduating with honors from my dental program, I have always labored mightily to be the best that I can be, working very hard, a serious woman who also cultivates a jolly sense of humor. My first choice for graduate study is at XXX University's School of Dentistry both because I have learned that your program is among the best in the country.
For years, I have had the central goal in life of helping people to smile, and most of all to regain a beautiful smile for those in need of dental work. I see the healthy smile as indicative and of central importance to one's general health, both physical and psychological. An independent woman, my long term goal is to someday have my own dental practice where, in addition to supporting myself, I might be able to offer dental services to other struggling immigrants and reduced prices commensurate with their income.
I feel that I am a strong candidate for your program since I have already worked in several dental offices ever since 1999. I am able to deal most effectively with all kinds of people from all different background because helping people is my foremost joy in life. An enormously hard worker, I function very well under pressure, I think, because I am a most kind, caring, and responsible individual. The greatest contribution that I might be able to make to society would be to volunteer at a local hospital and treat the less unfortunate free of charge. Of course I would like to have my own practice as well where.
I will also be able to attend to the underserved. I have an international personality, having traveled all over Europe as well as assisting a dentist in Abu Dhabi. Now, I serve as a volunteer here in New York working with a doctor in Queens for 3 to 4 days a week. And I have done so for the past three years, helping me to enhance my skills, stay abreast of current developments in dentistry, and become accustomed to how it is practiced here in America. My most poignant memory is that of so many young people in Romania with terrible dental problems most of whom do not even smile because of shame. This is why after graduating from your program I hope to be able to return to Romania periodically to help these children achieve beautiful smiles and to overcome the devastating psychological debilitations related to dental decay and malformation. I look forward to contributing to the beautiful diversity of your program and I thank you for considering my application.
